Job Overview

We are thrilled to announce an opening for the position of Early Intervention Physical Therapist. In this pivotal role, you will contribute significantly to enhancing the health and functional capabilities of individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly those eligible for our organization's services. You will employ a diverse array of therapeutic interventions aligned with Ohio regulations, ethical standards, and our organizational mission, focusing primarily on toddlers from birth to three years old.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough physical therapy screenings and evaluations across various environments utilizing record reviews, interviews, observations, and suitable assessment methods in adherence to departmental protocols.
  • Provide tailored physical therapy services, encompassing intervention, consultation, instructional support, and assistive technology.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team under the Early Intervention Program, serving children aged birth to three years through a transdisciplinary coaching model, either as a primary or secondary service provider with comprehensive support from fellow team members.
  • Engage in cooperative consultations with team members, families, caregivers, and community organizations to develop and implement strategies that promote accessibility, mobility, balance, and self-care.
  • Regularly assess and update therapy programs while ensuring meticulous documentation.
  • Educate individuals, staff, and caregivers on activity implementation, adaptive equipment usage, and proper handling techniques.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners as required.
  • Effectively communicate with individuals and stakeholders regarding assessments, programming, and progress tracking.
  • Offer guidance to the Equipment Assistant and provide clinical supervision to Physical Therapy Students and Assistants.
  • Participate in inter/intra-agency committees, training sessions, projects, or teams with supervisor approval.
  • Facilitate training sessions across various sites and community settings as needed.

Required Skills

  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Ohio.
  • Specialized training in developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.

  • A Physical Therapy degree from an accredited institution.
