Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Therapist (LPC/LMFT/LMSW/LCSW) to become a vital part of our team. In this remote role, you will utilize evidence-based psychotherapy, counseling, and talk therapy techniques to support patients referred by our Psychiatrist and mid-level providers. Your contributions will extend beyond treating mental health conditions, as you will also assist patients in connecting with essential local resources for advanced assessments and specialty care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide psychotherapy, counseling, and talk therapy to a diverse patient population using evidence-based methods.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify patients' mental and behavioral health needs.
  • Formulate differential diagnoses for mild to moderate mental health conditions and substance use challenges.
  • Set both short-term and long-term treatment objectives tailored to individual patients.
  • Participate in team meetings to evaluate treatment plans, monitor progress, and establish discharge plans as necessary.
  • Identify urgent mental health crises and refer patients to appropriate emergency services or psychiatric facilities.
  • Document clinical treatment sessions, assessments, and recommendations within a 24-hour timeframe to ensure compliance with medical record standards.
  • Conduct crisis intervention assessments for patients in acute distress.
  • Facilitate group or family therapy sessions when clinically appropriate and required.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented approach to patient care.
  • Stay informed about ongoing licensing requirements and engage in professional development activities.

Required Skills

  • Specialized training in Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) and Empirically Based Treatments (EBT).
  • In-depth understanding of trauma’s effects on the central nervous system and knowledge of trauma-informed care approaches for anxiety disorders, including PTSD.
  • Formal training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PET) for PTSD.
  • Competence in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for various mental health diagnoses.
  • Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems and effective communication in English.

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree from an accredited program and completion of required supervised hours necessary for licensure.
  • Active licensure as LPC, LMFT, LMSW, or LCSW in Texas.
  • A minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in a relevant clinical setting.
  • Ability to meet and maintain credentialing and privileging standards.
  • Preferred experience in treating veterans with PTSD and survivors of sexual assault or abuse.
  • Willingness to be on-call during evenings and weekends as required.
