Job Overview

Join our esteemed organization dedicated to fostering health equity and social good as a Staff Attorney or Senior Staff Attorney. We are in search of dedicated legal professionals who are enthusiastic about continuous learning in the domains of racial and social justice, including but not limited to the social determinants of health, implicit bias, and systemic oppression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal expertise on matters relating to public health and municipal laws.
  • Engage with diverse teams and external partners to promote the organization's mission.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support health equity initiatives.
  • Create educational resources pertaining to health law and policy.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced colleagues in legal practices.
  • Lead and initiate project development efforts.

  • Proven dedication to advancing health equity.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with colleagues and external partners from varied backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills for articulating complex legal matters.

  • Experience in crafting written legal and policy educational materials.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse populations impacted by systemic health challenges.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is required.
  • Must hold an active license to practice law in any U.S. state or Tribe, in good standing.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant legal experience is necessary for the Staff Attorney position; five years for the Senior Staff Attorney role.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Salary Range: \(68,750 - \)110,000 (commensurate with education and experience).
  • Full-Time employment with flexible hours from Monday to Friday; 8:00AM - 4:30PM (subject to variation).
  • Occasional travel required (10 - 25%).
