Marketing Intern

Description

Pharmacists Mutual Insurance is looking for a summer Marketing Intern. The Marketing Intern will be given a variety of projects to complete, which will allow them to develop an understanding of all aspects of marketing as it relates to generating leads and promoting growth within the organization. The intern will have the opportunity to work on digital campaigns, social media, direct mail, website, market and competitive research, and updating various databases.

Essential Functions

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:    

• Assist in driving brand awareness.
• Assist with marketing and advertising promotional activities.
• Update current website and assist with website design.
• Perform market analysis and competitive research.
• Create impactful and exciting social media content to extend the company's reach.
• Integrate and utilize CRM.
• Prepare promotional materials and presentations.
• Identify and analyze a target market.
• Research and analyze competitors.
• Support the marketing department with daily operational needs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge or exposure to the basic principles of Marketing.
• Knowledge and ability to utilize social media platforms.
• Ability to work as an effective team player.
• Open to learning new marketing concepts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work quickly, accurately, and independently.
• Ability to meet deadlines and deal with pressure situations.
• Ability to be diplomatic and maintain confidentiality when working with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

Experience and Education Qualifications

• 1 year of college.
• Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or other related degree.
• Intern should have reliable transportation.
• Candidate must be willing to relocate to Algona, IA for the time of the internship.
  • Company will assist with finding housing. Intern will be responsible for covering the expenses of the stay.

Preferred Qualifications

• Student completing Junior year of college course work.

Work Environment

• Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting
