Email Marketing/Klaviyo Strategist

 

We're on the hunt for an Email Marketing Strategist based in CAPE TOWN

Our client is a Retention Marketing Agency. We leverage Email, SMS, Push & Direct Mail to help eCommerce brands generate more revenue from their existing customers, as opposed to solely relying on new ones. We are very data-driven, and deploy strategies for our clients that are incredibly powerful, some of which we have yet to see anywhere else in the world.

 

As an agency, we like to stay very lean. Currently a team of six, we work with a small cohort of multi-million euro brands. We are very much a boots-on-the-ground agency, meaning we treat our clients like business partners, and are often an embedded part of their teams.

Requirements

 

The Role:

A core member of a dynamic and innovative retention agency. You will be part of a team that specialises in developing personalised email marketing strategies for a diverse range of clients. Our focus is on using advanced segmentation, data analysis, and visually mapped customer journeys to create impactful campaigns that drive engagement and conversion.

 

The Email Marketing Strategist will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimising email marketing strategies that align with our client's business goals. This role requires a deep understanding of email marketing tools and strategies, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to analyse and interpret data to drive continuous improvement. You will be responsible for crafting and managing campaigns, providing strategic insights, and ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction and retention.

 

What you'll do:

 

  • Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive email marketing strategies that seamlessly integrate with the client's overall marketing goals and their customers. Design and maintain detailed content calendars and campaign briefs.
  • Brand Audits: Understand brand identity, and their customer demographics, together with identifying their customer journeys.
  • Visual Flow Journeys: Utilise Miro to map out customer journey flows, ensuring a visually coherent and strategically aligned customer experience.
  • Advanced Segmentation: Implement advanced segmentation strategies in Klaviyo to tailor and personalise email campaigns, enhancing engagement and conversion rates.
  • Campaign Management: Create and oversee the execution of email campaigns, leveraging Shopify and Klaviyo features to meet client objectives. Ensure timely and effective campaign delivery.
  • Performance Analysis and Optimisation: Continuously measure and report on campaign performance using key metrics; adjust strategies based on data insights. Lead A/B testing to refine campaign elements and drive improvements.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and manage customer relationships alongside our Operations team. Conduct regular check-ins with clients to review campaign performance and gather feedback.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Identify potential challenges before they arise and work with the relevant team members to resolve them. Own the solutions and keep clients informed of progress.
  • Trend Analysis and Reporting: Analyse trends across clients to provide strategic insights and share feedback with senior management. On-sell and upsell enhanced services where appropriate.

 

Required Skills:

  • 2-3 years experience in Email Marketing and eCommerce is essential.
  • Proficiency with Klaviyo, Shopify, Miro, and other marketing tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and project management skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to eventually mentor and guide team members.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Keen interest in eCommerce and customer psychology

 

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years marketing experience in an agency or brand environment is a must have.
  • Formal education in Marketing or related fields is beneficial but not required.
