What’s in Store 

We're on the lookout for a Senior Accountant. As a Senior Accountant you will apply the principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer you will manage key client relationships and ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meet client needs. Success in this position is often measured by client satisfaction, retention rates, and revenue growth.

 

EXAMPLES:

  • Computes and prepares data for journal entries, reviews general ledger and related financial

 

statements for reasonableness for complex divisions within set deadlines

 

• Accumulates and analyzes information for the preparation of financial statements, ledgers, and

 

reports monthly for complex divisions within set deadlines

 

• Prepares monthly bank reconciliations for complex bank accounts and addresses reconciling

 

items in a timely manner

 

• Responsible for annual budget preparation and performs analysis of related data as needed

 

• Prepares month-end reports and reconciliation for insurance companies. Initiates monthly

 

payments to carriers

 

• Initiate commission estimate transfer for assigned books of business on weekly or monthly

 

basis.

 

• Prepares monthly accrual journal entries for expenses

 

• Prepares schedule and calculates depreciation for fixed assets

 

• Responsible for general operation of corporate accounting system

 

• Prepares audit schedules for annual independent audit and interacts with auditors by answering

 

inquiries

 

• Work with team to prepare consolidated financial statements including balance sheets, profit,

 

loss and subsidiary statements

 

• Reviews and analyzes general ledger account balances

 

• Answers inquiries from internal and external customers in a pleasant and efficient manner

 

• Verifies accuracy of accounting data, and makes recommendations for corrections

 

• Provides ad-hoc training and ongoing assistance to subordinates and inexperienced staff

 

• Special projects as necessary.

This role is a full-time, remote position.

 

Your Expertise, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or 3 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPA Certification Preferred
  • Experience in financial reporting and analysis
  •  Advanced Excel skills, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance relevant to the industry (e.g., GAAP, IFRS)
  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through the preparation of reports and presentations for diverse audiences.
  2. Ability to adapt to new technologies quickly.
  3. Customer service orientation, with a track record of resolving client issues efficiently and effectively.
  4. Proven ability to mentor and train team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
