General Summary:
Velocity is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to lead the FP&A team and function, assisting the company through a time of transformation and growth. The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will assist the CFO and Finance/Accounting team with financial model building and enhancements, budget and forecast development and management, financial reporting, and other analytical projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support CFO and Finance team with enhancing and maintaining the current financial models
- Plan and lead the annual “bottoms-up” business plan, working closely with functional leaders
- Develop quarterly forecasts
- Prepare and/or review and coordinate presentation materials for monthly results, budget, forecasts, strategic outlook including information on financial performance, treasury and ROI metrics, variances to budget and forecast
- Develop and enhance current financial reporting dashboards
- Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources
- Complete ad hoc reports or analysis in support of M&A activities and special projects
- Analyze trends in the business and generate insights to drive business performance improvement and develop new reporting
- Generate monthly cash flow, revenue, and cost analysis
- Build and manage multiple financial models for projects
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows)
- Solid understanding of GAAP accounting
- Strong presentation and organizational skills
- Microsoft Office Suite experience required with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong business acumen and judgment skills
- Excellent communication skills, experience interfacing with Executive Leadership
- Strong attention to detail
- Hands-on and “can-do”, positive attitude
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, human resources modeling, warehouse and inventory management principles and modeling
Qualifications, Experience and Education:
Required - Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
Preferred – Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related Business field
- 3+ years finance and financial modeling experience OR 2+ years consulting or investment banking experience
- Management experience a plus
- NetSuite Experience a plus
