We are hiring a Director of Labor Relations to join our Americas Outage and Maintenance Services team. This individual will be responsible for management and employee relations, labor relations, personnel administration, administration of employee programs, safety programs, and risk management programs. These functions include responsibility for developing, interpreting, and recommending program goals and objectives, policies and procedures, and courses of action. The incumbent is responsible for managing the labor relations activities according to established guidelines and sound administrative practices and in accordance with the organization’s mission, values, and goals.

This position will be based out of our Piedmont, SC location but can be performed remotely from anywhere in the United States.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Formulate and recommend program goals and objectives in all areas of labor relations.
  • Develop, implement, and administer (through a variety of techniques such as quarterly meetings) the management-labor relations area of the personnel program in an effort to improve labor relations.
  • Ensure company is in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Investigate problems such as working conditions, disciplinary actions, and employee and applicant appeals and grievances. Provide guidance and recommendations for problem resolution to departmental officials and individuals.
  • Prepare and present required and special reports.
  • Develop and present the operating budget for the labor relations department and, upon final budget approval, ensure that all functions operate within appropriated amounts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business or public administration, or closely related field required. Equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.
    • JD or Master’s degree in human resource management, business or public administration, or closely related field preferred.
  • Six (6) years in human resource management, three (3) of which must have been in a responsible labor relations position, and three (3) of which must have been in a supervisory position.
    • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required.
  • Must be able to effectively work with a variety of personnel to include external customers and clients, and internal personnel.
  • Excellent computer skills, presentation skills, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks at one time are required.
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience in Microsoft office Suite software is required.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior, integrity and trust.
