Job description

UMB’s mortgage team was created over 4 years ago when UMB decided to bring mortgages back in-house. UMB’s mortgage team has a wealth of knowledge due to it being comprised of many associates who have been in the mortgage field for 10 or more years. The mortgage operations team, in which the Mortgage Loan Closer is a part of, is vital in making sure that the mortgage process from beginning to end goes as smoothly as possible for our clients while ensuring that specific requirements are being met to ensure compliance on all aspects of the mortgage. The mortgage operations team shows exactly what team work is by helping to support each other in getting the job done while giving the team opportunity to be innovative in creating more efficient processes along the way.

The Mortgage Loan Closer’s role is important because they are the ones that gather, review and prepare critical documents for the closing of the mortgage to ensure everything meets compliance standards before being finalized and signed. The Mortgage Loan Closer serves as the point of contact for the clients, attorneys, closing agents and vendors, often answering questions or relaying important information to ensure the delivery of documents are done correctly and in a timely manner. The mortgage industry itself can be very fast pace as interest rates change, but our mortgage team can make something that may seem impossible to get done in a specific timeframe to a reality that it can and will be done.

How you’ll spend your time:

  • You will use interpersonal skills to connect and support our variety of clients to achieve the Unparalleled Customer Experience.

  • You will use organizational skills to ensure the steps in the mortgage process are completed in an effective and timely manner.

We’re excited to talk with you if:

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Have 3 years current mortgage closing experience or a combination of mortgage experience that includes mortgage closing experience

Compensation Range:

Minimum: $38,910.00 - Maximum: $90,090.00
