Go Ahead Tours (GAT) Canada
Director Level, Full Time

Starting Date: November/December 2024
Location: Toronto, ON (This is not a remote role. This role requires on-site presence a minimum of 3 days a week in our Toronto office.)

Here at Go Ahead Tours Canada, our team of in the know travel experts craft immersive, experiential itineraries in 87 countries and on all seven continents. We think travel's pretty magical. And, whether you're travelling with a group, a few close friends, or solo, we can't wait to share it with you. We are now seeking an experienced, collaborative, sales & customer focused individual to manage our growing team.

As a Go Ahead Sales Manager you will play a pivotal role in supporting and driving the growth of our Canadian business.  You believe that market growth and top notch customer service go hand in hand.  You are committed to motivating, developing and driving a team of tour consultants to success. Your team will be responsible for driving the sales process from initial inquiry to creating longstanding travel programs.  You are flexible, open-minded and lead by example.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Manage a growing team of sales staff, predominantly selling over phone but also in person.
  • Successfully manage your team’s sales pipeline and forecast to exceed goals.
  • Provide local sales leadership, including ongoing sales coaching and training to improve quality, conversion, and efficiency.
  • Support the training program that introduces our new hires to Go Ahead’s itineraries and sales techniques, and offers continual support to experienced Sales team members
  • Work closely with Sales Directors and our Analytics Team to prioritize sales initiatives and develop strategy.
  • Provide a consistent feedback loop to product development and marketing based on customer and competitive insights gathered during the sales process.
  • Learn and become a subject matter expert on Go Ahead’s products; including itineraries and programs, and understand what makes them unique and valuable.
  • Continuously juggle and prioritize tasks
  • Consistently demonstrate an entrepreneurial and positive attitude
  • Both travel and prior sales experience required

Who you are:

  • A sales and customer-centric leader, you are driven to help your team exceed their goals. You assume the point of view of our customers, and serve as their advocate.
  • A natural leader, you have a strong ability to motivate a team and rally others behind a common goal.
  • A strategic thinker, you have strong analytical skills and are energized by developing a clear strategy.
  • An expert communicator, you set a well-defined vision and create strong buy-in.
  • A strong collaborator, you proactively seek out opportunities to work with others and demonstrate an ability to influence and persuade to ensure a strong end result against your goals.
  • A problem solver, you embrace opportunities for growth and handle difficult situations with patience.
  • A strong developer, committed to helping others to grow and reach their full potential.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 2+ years of staff management experience
  • A minimum of 2+ years of sales coaching and training experience
  • A minimum of 5+ years of sales experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to travel
The role is based in EF’s Toronto office, and requires an in-office presence with the team three days a week, with two days ability to work from home.
