Job Title: Business Development Manager - Remote

Location: Morgan Hill, CA

Job Overview

Join our esteemed organization, a leader in smart home automation solutions, as a Business Development Manager. You will be instrumental in expanding our reach within the high-end residential, commercial, restaurant, hospitality, and multi-dwelling markets. Reporting directly to the Sales Leader, your primary responsibility will be to generate outside sales while nurturing key relationships with trade partners, including architects, interior designers, builders, and electricians. We seek a candidate with extensive expertise in the custom integration sector, a proven sales record, and an unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding client experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business prospects in both residential and commercial sectors.
  • Generate leads through strategic networking, participation in industry events, and the cultivation of enduring relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Foster and maintain robust connections with trade partners to stimulate referral business.
  • Engage with potential clients to ascertain their needs and present customized smart space solutions.
  • Collaborate with system designers and stakeholders to develop and present tailored proposals.
  • Stay informed about the latest technological trends and product offerings.
  • Consistently achieve and surpass sales targets, contributing significantly to the company’s growth.

Required Skills

  • Proven track record in generating leads, closing sales, and achieving business goals.
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities to strengthen and sustain client and trade partner relationships.
  • Strong technical knowledge of integrated smart space technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the custom integration industry, including a minimum of 2 years in sales or business development.
  • Demonstrated experience in client sales, lead generation, and marketing strategies.
  • Preferred experience with D-tools SI.
  • History of A/V sales exceeding $1.0 million annually.
  • Hands-on experience with structured cabling, surveillance, audio/video, networking, lighting control, and automation systems.
  • Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
  • Effective time management and sales coordination abilities.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and to client-designated areas as required.

  • Base Salary: \(75,000 - \)115,000 annually, based on experience.
