Job description

Here at Capita we have an exciting opening in our Capita Public Service growth team for a Market Development Manager to join us.

We believe in virtual wards and their wider potential into virtual care across multiple pathways and specialists. They provide choice and safety improvements for patients (waiting or in treatment), treatment options to clinicians, and capacity and financial savings to systems.

We are looking for someone, with experience with health trusts, integrated care boards and NHS England. We are looking for someone used to working on high value, complex, business development propositions, someone with a passion for delivering a first class service to our client and driving Capita's cutting edge reputation within the market.

This role is predominantly home based however there may be some travel to key client sites or Capita Offices. What you'll be doing :


  • Define addressable market opportunity, underpinned by fully costed and go-to-market (GTM) strategies to enable sustainable and profitable growth
  • Build high-value sector & customer networks & relationships that demonstrate division position as a market leaders in defined propositions/sectors.
  • Strengthen division as a trusted partner through early & meaningful engagement in the pre-buying cycle
  • Early and effective sales forecasting and pre-qualification decisions to prioritise pipeline opportunities & must-win deals
  • Development to lead through deal qualification and close, retaining core focus on market making
  • Contribute to Client Group GTM growth strategy, targets and plans, including investment cases, proposition & product requirements and business mix, sales strategies
  • Identify and build new market entry, client origination and holistic ( procurement, end- user and management) engagement plans to support market strategy and performance
  • Nurture and prioritise market & client funnel opportunities to maximise win rate and return in engagement investment
  • Lead new client engagement from entry, bringing relevant division expertise to shape client interventions that bring clarity to client problems and potential technical & service solutions - increasing propensity to win
  • Develop and demonstrate market sector thought-leadership internally and externally to strengthen division brand position and market offerings to win in the market
  • Design, lead and deliver proofs of concept / innovation cycles in partnership with clients to deliver win-win benefits for division and prospective clients

What we're looking for :


  • A subject matter expert with experience working with health trusts and integrated care boards. Clinical experience is desirable but not essential.
  • - Relationship building and management - typically at executive level
  • Multi-disciplinary team leadership and collaboration, in Client Group and across Client Groups, to pull through full division proposition & market value
  • Ruthless prioritisation to maximise ROI from market and customer engagement.
  • Role focus: 20% identifying market & enablement ; 60% market/ customer making / shaping ; 20% with BD -insight/ preparation
