Regional Event Sales Manager - Remote

We are in search of a passionate and results-driven Regional Event Sales Manager to join our esteemed organization. This remote position allows flexibility for home-based work; however, candidates must reside in the San Diego area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Growth: Drive substantial sales growth through building and maintaining strong relationships with both new and existing accounts, while ensuring exceptional client experiences and profitability.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate enduring connections with key accounts and actively seek new business opportunities to enrich our sales pipeline.
  • Industry Participation: Engage with industry associations and local events to enhance business prospects and establish a leadership presence in the field.
  • Lead Qualification: Expertly assess leads and devise innovative strategic programs to secure business and achieve personal sales targets.
  • Collaborative Development: Collaborate closely with Experience Designers and the Creative Team to formulate compelling proposals that meet client expectations and budgetary constraints.
  • Client Engagement: Conduct site inspections, entertain clients, and forge strong personal connections, ensuring successful business closures with finalized contracts and deposits.
  • Budget Oversight: Analyze projected financials for programs, accurately inputting data into Salesforce for revenue tracking and managing client marketing budgets.
  • Sales Initiatives: Proactively initiate sales calls and keep clients informed about new venues and services through effective marketing initiatives.
  • Client Support: Provide ongoing support during events, collaborating with Business Development to handle referral leads efficiently.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends and educate the Global Sales team about local market opportunities.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales within the DMC, incentive travel, event management, or a comparable sector.
  • Proficiency in client development, which encompasses new business acquisition, lead follow-up, proposal presentations, and closing deals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to effectively address challenges that arise in program development.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills to maintain strong ties with suppliers, partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Negotiation expertise to secure favorable terms with suppliers on behalf of clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality & Tourism, Business Management, Marketing, Communication, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Ability to interpret complex program requirements, proposals, and contracts with accuracy.
  • Competence in professional representation at meetings, inspections, and industry functions.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Base Salary: Up to \(85,000 with commission opportunities, targeting total earnings of \)120,000 - $135,000.
