Role and responsibilities
Trusted partner
- Support Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief People and Culture Officer and Content Leaders to make financially informed decisions within the context of wider group performance.
- Provide insight on the options available to manage costs and optimize business outcomes (effectiveness + efficiency).
- Includes RoI supported investment appraisal.
- Land the financial metrics expected of partnered functions.
- Manage the stakeholders through opportunities and challenges such that Cyncly is agile and responsive to its environment.
Reporting
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to leadership groups to give clarity over underlying performance.
- Work with the business to develop and leverage non-financial KPIs to support performance narrative.
- Provide expectation ahead of the MR to support accurate and efficient posting.
- Enable the business to feed into the MR review process.
- Land high quality materials to share performance across stakeholders, including beyond immediate functional leadership (e.g. CEO).
Forecasting
- Own forecasting for respective areas. This includes:
- Budget.
- Quarterly bottom up reforecast.
- Monthly driver assessment.
- Monthly risk and opportunities forecasting.
Team management
- The role will have ½ of one direct report with the potential that this will convert into a full direct report as the individual beds into the key processes and sets up the required structures for a successful team.
Content specific. Cyncly’s content has provided a competitive advantage over its history and opens up strong AI opportunities.
- Support the business to deliver and manage to consulting / R&D like efficiency metrics.
- Enable continuing workforce strategy.
Company Success specific.
- Enable the People team to manage event spend and drive recruitment spend efficiency.
- Enable premise spend optimisation.
- Work with Legal and Finance to optimize non-payroll spend.
- Enable workforce strategy.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Fluent English.
- Ideally qualified accountant.
- Very solid FP&A experience.
- Business partnering experience owning P&L outcomes.
- Managing productivity metrics to drive positive business outcomes required.
- Demonstrable experience working directly with global C-suite leaders to control cost and make data informed investment decisions.
- Demonstrable experience setting up processes and structures for scalable success
- Software experience is a nice-to-have.
- Professional services experience is a nice-to-have.
- Developed accounting knowledge, articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Supported business to manage to plan
- Experience influencing decision making processes
Required skills and competencies:
- Ability to think laterally and problem solve, providing scalable solutions
- Ability to engage senior management in a credible fashion using data, analysis and insight
- Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with wider team members in a hands-on environment
- Very experienced Excel user (problem solving in excel vs being a calculator)
- Experienced PowerPoint user
- To be successful, a proactive, entrepreneurial, can-do attitude will be important
- Highly motivated and organised
