Koniag Management Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Systems Analyst & Tester to support KMS and our government customer. This is a Remote opportunity. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Review functional requirements, data definitions, business processes, and business rules to develop test plans
  • Develop and execute functional test scripts for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Post-Implementation Verification (PIV) testing
  • Participate in requirements-gathering meetings and working sessions
  • Analyze requirements documents (e.g., user stories, validation matrix, messages appendix, etc.)
  • Provide feedback on draft requirements with the goal of ensuring they are testable
  • Review existing requirements and identify any necessary test script updates
  • Identify and map specific requirements to test scripts
  • Identify and set up test data as needed for new features or enhancements
  • Analyze relevant documentation such as design documents, requirements, logic supplements and calculations, user stories and copy documents (content) in preparation for drafting test cases
  • Create high-level test scenarios that support requirements, user stories and copy documents (containing content for a page)
  • Update existing high-level test scenarios based on requirements, user stories and copy documents
  • Review and provide feedback on product test/system test cases/scripts
  • Create UAT test cases that trace back to requirements, user stories and copy documents and ultimately high-level test scenarios
  • Perform peer reviews of all test cases internally before submission to government for review
  • Verify the completeness and correctness of test cases with the government Test Leads and Product Owners prior to the start of user acceptance testing
  • Update test cases based on the government’s feedback prior to the start of user acceptance testing
  • Clarify test cases and respond to questions from the government testers on test cases
  • Monitor and report test completion status during user acceptance testing
  • Participate in UAT kickoff meetings, demos, and status meetings
  • Conduct hands-on testing using approved manual test cases (including validation of payment calculations) during UAT and PIV
  • Record all testing results as pass/fail, detailing defect descriptions, defect type, defect severity and priority; clarifying defect descriptions during defect meetings, during developer clarification meetings and clarify defect descriptions
  • Retest to validate fixes to reported defects during UAT, documenting pass/fail and defect description if retest fails
  • Document defects and issues found during UAT and PIV
  • Participate in the planning and execution of PIV, including product testing or validation of production data
  • Collaborate with the government and its vendors to clarify any document changes to requirements documentation based on testing results
  • Conduct regression testing during UAT based on the scope of the release
  • Collaborate with the government program manager, government workstream leads, government test leads, government contractors and other team members as needed to facilitate the success of each release
  • Participate in lessons learned sessions with team members
  • Familiarity with application lifecycle management (ALM), information management and content management applications, including Jira and Confluence
  • Ability to write and review detailed documentation (technical specifications, weekly/monthly reports, meeting notes, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent communication (written and verbal), excellent time management skills
  • Work independently with minimal supervision as well as working with a team

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience performing systems analysis and/or business process analysis
  • Experience performing QA, user acceptance testing and/or independent verification and validation
  • Must be a US citizen able to obtain a Public Trust level clearance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a high level of integrity, critical thinking, and leadership courage
  • Fluency in Spanish is a bonus

Office Location and Travel:

  • Candidate will provide their own office workspace location and high-speed internet connection
  • No travel requirements
  • Releases are typically on Sunday mornings, so work on the weekend may be required once per month

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
