Work remotely within Slovakia or on-site in Bratislava or Košice. Remote work is limited to Slovak residents due to VPN guidelines. Regular employment only, no B2B contracts.


Salary starting at 3.500 EUR/month

Offered salary varies based on relevant experience and skills. Plus: Annual salary bonus based on individual & company performance.


Your role

The Senior Data Engineer will design, develop and maintain data sourcing, ingestion, and transformation solutions that will be used in reporting & analytics, data science, and other consuming applications, as well as collaboration on building and maintenance of a data and analytics platform.


You will

  • Design and lead development of data ingestion and transformation pipelines in Databricks
  • Design, develop and maintain automation pipelines for CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability and alerting, and all other aspects of a Databricks platform
  • Initiate documentation, knowledge-sharing, and creating of operating procedures
  • Mentor junior developers and help them achieve more advanced skills

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the design and development of data pipelines, data marts, and data warehouses
  • 1+ years of experience writing Databricks spark jobs and/or DLT pipelines
  • Excellent understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional data modeling
  • Excellent Python skills with experience with other languages
  • Knowledge of AWS or anther cloud provider’s offered capabilities
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in English (B2+), with the ability to articulate complex processes to individuals of varying technical abilities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability with strong attentions to detail and accuracy


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with Astronomer/Airflow
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting performance issues and fine-tuning queries
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and learn new skills
  • Firm knowledge of data engineering tools including version control system using Git, Bitbucket, SVN, or Team Foundation
