Job Summary

SABIC Petrochemical Automotive is now hiring an ambitious Market Development and Technical Service (MDTS) Engineer for boosting the market development activities into the automotive market, in France. The candidate will enjoy working in a multicultural environment and working in multidisciplinary matrix organization. The EMEA Automotive segment team is responsible for growing profitable sales of the Automotive Polymer product portfolio (PP, PP compounds, Engineering Thermoplastics) in Europe, Middle East and Africa. The EMEA Automotive Segment Team includes 37 employees, working in Commercial and Market Development & Technical Support teams, located in different countries, with a strong presence in the Netherlands. MDTS Engineer position holder will focus her/his effort on market development project at existing and/or new automotive Tiers and OEM’s, in France, in close cooperation with Commercial, Business Management, Marketing and Technology teams. Driving market development strategy and customer technical activities for the Automotive Industry in France, using common processes and decision criteria to execute on SABIC Petrochemicals automotive strategic priorities, resulting in the developing key customers and parts.

 

How You Can Be the Impact

  • Building strong relationships at key automotive OEMs, and Tiers, in collaboration with commercial counterpart.
  • Initiating technical approvals for materials and parts.
  • Understanding market needs & trends, part needs and developments.
  • Acquiring projects at emerging and existing customer base, promoting SABIC solutions to respond to automotive customer’s needs and requirements.
  • Executing projects including product, process and part validation, and contribute to the growth of differentiated product portfolio of polyolefin-based materials, and engineering thermoplastics.
  • Extending technical service, including handling technical complaints and product portfolio training.
  • Responsible of the market implementation of new part and product solutions to enhance business growth.
  • Knowledge management: Building and sharing part, product, processing and characterization.

 

What Matters to SABIC

  • Bachelor or Master in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Polymer Chemistry or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years (ideally between 5 and 10 years) of industry experience in a technical role concerning polymers, processing or part design.
  • Product experience with polyolefin compounds and engineering thermoplastics.
  • Proficient in the use of process tools e.g. LEAN-6 Sigma, familiar with ISO Quality Standards.
  • Industry experience in the area of Automotive is appreciated.
  • Experience managing and growing market territory: Ability to lead, direct, guide, plan & develop new projects and programs at customers. 
  • Self-starter with the drive and passion to succeed.
  • Having good communication skills, being goal oriented, decisive, and focused.
  • Enjoying a multicultural environment and working in multidisciplinary matrix organization.
  • Fluent in English and French- speaking and writing.
  • Traveling: 25-50% mainly in France.
