Job Title: Bookkeeper (Contract Role)

Location: Remote (Atlanta, Georgia)

We are thrilled to present an exceptional contract opportunity for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our esteemed non-profit organization. This role predominantly offers remote work flexibility, with occasional on-site engagement for team meetings. As a crucial contributor to our organization, you will be instrumental in enhancing our day-to-day operations through effective financial system management and various accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily financial operations utilizing QuickBooks Online.
  • Manage transactional accounting functions, including account reconciliation, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR).
  • Process operational and program-related invoices, ensuring precise expense documentation and timely check requests.
  • Develop ad-hoc reports in Microsoft Excel to streamline the evaluation of expenses, grants, and contracts.
  • Submit invoices as required, guaranteeing timely payments and meticulous record maintenance.
  • Carry out data entry tasks, ensuring accurate and current customer information.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure precise financial reporting.
  • Facilitate smooth month-end close operations.
  • Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions as required.
  • Address customer inquiries promptly, delivering outstanding customer service.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in account reconciliation.
  • Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
  • Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes.
  • Expertise in bookkeeping methodologies.
  • Strong data entry skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with month-end closing procedures.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks software; familiarity with QuickBooks Online is highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; further education in finance or accounting is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in bookkeeping or a related area is preferred.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel is essential.
