Job description

Job Title: IFM Solutions Director - Central Government


Overview: As the Mitie IFM (Integrated Facilities Management) Solutions Director within the Central Government sector, you will report into the Business Development Director and will be responsible for identifying, developing and bidding on Government single service, and multi-service line opportunities.


As the solutions lead, you will build win themes and identify the key Needs, Outcomes and Solutions required for the bidding team to develop a winning tender response.


You will also play a pivotal role in driving business development, fostering strategic partnerships, and working closely with the Crown Commercial Services to identify and prepare for future opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:


  1. Opportunity Ownership and Proposal Management: Lead the end-to-end proposal process, from initial opportunity identification to submission, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, tailored proposals that resonate with government clients and address their unique needs.
  2. Solution Development: Collaborate closely with internal teams to develop innovative IFM solutions tailored to the specific requirements and challenges of government clients, enhancing our competitive positioning and differentiation in the market.
  3. Pipeline Generation and Management: Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities within the central government sector, leveraging market insights, client relationships, and industry partnerships to identify and prioritise prospects.
  4. Contract Negotiation: Drive commercial conversations with government clients, leveraging your understanding of procurement processes, compliance requirements, and pricing strategies to secure favourable terms and agreements that support pipeline growth and revenue targets.
  5. Client Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders within government agencies, actively identifying their needs, pain points, and priorities to position our services effectively and drive pipeline expansion.
  6. Partnership Development: Identify strategic partnerships and alliances that complement our capabilities and enhance our pipeline generation efforts within the central government sector, fostering mutually beneficial relationships with industry stakeholders and supply partners.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Proven track record of success in business development within the IFM or related industry, with a focus on the Central Government sector.
  • Understanding of government procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of Crown Commercial Services tender frameworks
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen and understanding of FM cost modelling and pricing
  • Demonstrable leadership and project skills to meet tight deadlines and evolving client requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities, with a track record of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
