Health and Safety Advisor. Location: Manchester or Leeds

We’re looking to hire a Health and Safety Advisor to join our Health and Safety Team.

Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, our Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for helping ensure a compliant and effective Health and Safety Management System within Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.

This position will be based at either our head office at Leeds Bradford Airport or our operations at Manchester Airport with frequent travel around our bases within the UK and sometimes overseas, often with short notice.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Responsible for assisting the Health and Safety Manager UK in ensuring all UK H&S legislative requirements are met and advising departments on risk assessment programmes, ensuring risks are indexed and tracked until sign off in the system.
  • Ensuring useable data and performance indicators are in place to help identify trends and patterns in order that the management of Health and Safety is proactive as far as possible and increasingly less reactive.
  • Supporting the Health and Safety Manager UK in ensuring effective implementation of plans and reporting on Health & Safety performance to Senior Management and increasing local management of Health and Safety.
  • Promulgating Health & Safety information within the company from external sources such as HSE and other third parties and assisting with the delivery of the IOSH training programme.
  • Working with and developing key policies in line with other teams such as HR to achieve the companies’ goals such as Drug and Alcohol and mental wellbeing strategies. As well as assisting the Health and Safety Manager UK in H&S incident investigations.


What You’ll Have

  • Formal Health & Safety qualification – NEBOSH General Certificate minimum.
  • Experience of Safety Management Systems is essential.
  • Be flexible, practical and approachable with excellent communications skills at all levels.
  • Diligent, tenacious and enthusiastic, with the ability to work well in a team.
  • Previous experience in an airline environment a formal Level 3 Teaching qualification or equivalent or minimum IOSH technical member with up-to-date CPD are all desirable.
  • A full UK driving licence is required, due to the travel requirements.
