Editor – Veterinary Record Open

Veterinary Record Open is a journal dedicated to publishing original veterinary research across a range of topics. Original research, study protocols and systematic or scoping reviews from all disciplines of veterinary interest will be considered, provided they are coherent and technically sound.

Veterinary Record Open is an open access, continuous publication journal of the British Veterinary Association and adheres to the highest possible industry standards concerning publication ethics. It is a sister journal to Vet Record and has a global audience.

The role

We seek an Editor who understands the impact that a high-quality scholarly journal can have on improving knowledge and facilitating evidence-based veterinary medicine.

This individual should have a veterinary degree, a good publication record and experience of working in an editorial role for an academic journal. Editorial support and training will be provided, as well as an annual honorarium of £6000. The Editor should expect to spend the equivalent of up to one working day in total each week on journal-related activities. An interest, or experience, in open access publishing would be an advantage.

Applicants need not be based in the UK, and international applicants are encouraged. A good standard of written English will be required.
