Job description

Job Summary

At greehill, we're at the forefront of transforming urban forestry with our cutting-edge smart tree inventories. Using 4D digital twinning, laser scanning and AI technology, we provide cities around the world with comprehensive insights to manage their urban forests more efficiently.

We are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive our expansion in the Spanish Business-to-Government (B2G) sector, with a particular focus on government agencies managing urban greenery, including street and park trees. Leveraging your network and knowledge of urban forestry management and government procurement processes, you will identify, develop and close new business opportunities in the public sector across Spain. In collaboration with various departments at greehill, you will help position our cutting-edge technology products to meet the needs of green departments.

Visit us at greehill.com to learn more about how we're innovating for greener, healthier urban environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Research & Analysis --> Identify potential opportunities, with a focus on government green departments responsible for urban trees. Analyze trends in urban forestry and municipal tree management, and align greehill's solutions with customer needs.
  • Client Acquisition & Relationship Management --> Establish and maintain strong relationships with city and municipal departments, particularly those that manage urban green spaces, parks, and streets. Present greehill's technology solutions and demonstrate how they can improve the management of urban trees.
  • Sales & Negotiations --> Identify and qualify government sales leads, manage the full end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting to contract close, and then hand off to greehill's project manager. Prepare and present proposals, lead responses to RFP/RFI's, lead contract negotiations, and ensure all business is compliant with European and national government regulations. Work closely with internal teams to gather the necessary resources and information for proposal preparation.

Your Ideal Profile

  • Background as an arborist, green urban planner or green space manager with experience in a municipal green space and/or tree department, familiar with the challenges of urban tree management (safety, health, park and street trees, etc.).
  • Familiarity with public procurement processes (tenders, thresholds, etc.).
  • Actively involved in and part of the arborist community or associations in Spain (e.g. AEA, AEPJP or Red de Ciudades por la Agroecología ), allowing for easy connections with city tree managers.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, especially the ability to match greehill's technology with the needs of urban forestry departments.
  • In addition to Spanish and English, fluency in additional European languages is an advantage.
  • Highly motivated, results-oriented, with a "can do" mentality and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

What You Can Expect From Us

  • Work with cutting-edge LiDAR and AI technologies to help cities manage their urban trees more efficiently.
  • Join an international team of highly motivated colleagues working towards greener, healthier urban environments.
