Summary of Job Duties:
The Adjunct English Instructor shall be responsible to the Dean of General Education.
Courses: Basic Composition, Composition II, Composition I Lab, Composition II
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Teach classes as assigned by the appropriate Academic Dean. Instructor will be expected to meet each class for the full duration of each scheduled class period.
Provide availability to students a sufficient amount of time out of class to meet the students’ needs for assistance with course work.
Maintain skills and knowledge within his or her area. Instructor will attend required professional development activities on campus and can attend activities off campus.
Maintain updated documents and grades in the current LMS, and will submit grades in a timely manner as required by the Registrar’s Office.
Insure that a syllabus for each course taught is on file in the office of the appropriate Academic Dean and that any revisions made are on file.
Review and select the textbooks and/or other materials for their assigned course(s) as required.
Cooperate with the Advisory Committee for his or her program (if applicable) and incorporate feedback as appropriate.
Demonstrate consistent professionalism and commitment to working cooperatively with all campus personnel.
Complete any required reports within the prescribed time frame.
Attend functions at the College as requested by administrative officers.
Other duties as assigned by the Dean and/or Vice Chancellor for Academics.
Qualifications:
Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the minimum qualifications upon approval of the Chancellor.
