Business Development Manager EMEA - Military and Tactical Market

OTTO Engineering, located just outside Chicago, IL, is a long-standing, growing, innovative, and well-respected industry leader.

The OTTO Communications Division designs and manufactures innovative two-way radio accessories developed for high-precision applications.

We specialize in tactical communication headsets, push-to-talk systems, multi-port hubs, speaker microphones, cable assemblies for interfacing accessories to radios, tactical surveillance kits, and wireless intercoms for virtually all radio platforms.

For 60 years, our products have been recognized for excellence by military, law enforcement agencies, public safety agencies and retail and commercial customers worldwide.

Job Location:

Full-time employment with our partner ALDERS (Stationed in European Partner Facility – ALDERS electronic GmbH) location in Kempen, Germany. Will manage the sales of the Communications Division product line throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). This person will manage channel partners (independent sales representatives and distributors) and will be an individual contributor. **Will spend the first several weeks in OTTO solution training, both in-house and on-the-job.

Job Duties and Authorities:

  • Drives sales in primarily the military and tactical markets throughout EMEA; other markets are included in responsibilities as well.
  • Works with end user prospects and channel partners to define prospects’ needs, and then identifies and quotes solutions to achieve sales goals.
  • Builds the channel partner network.
  • Provides training and support to channel partners and end users.
  • Conducts customer meetings in-person and by phone and webinar.
  • Attends conferences and trade shows; travel can be up to 50%.
  • Develops and executes account and opportunity strategies.
  • Assists the Marketing team with the creation of technical materials and communication of new product and promotion ideas.
  • Reports to our leadership team on the needs of the market, which will provide insights into product pricing and enhancements, improved client satisfaction, new product and service offerings, and company operational improvements.
  • Assists with other related duties as required or assigned.
