Our Data Science team is currently seeking a
Data Scientist II in our Worcester, MA location or remote work arrangement.
This is a full time, exempt role.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Data Scientist II designs, implements, and evaluates advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and tools for application in the business’s most complex issues. The Data Scientist builds econometric and statistical models for various problems inclusive of projections, classification, clustering, pattern analysis, sampling, simulations, and so forth.
In this capacity, the Data Scientist II researches new ways for predicting and modeling end-user behavior as well as investigating data summarization and visualization techniques for conveying key applied analytics findings.
The Data Scientist II also performs ad-hoc data mining and exploratory statistics tasks on very large data sets related to the business’s strategies. The Data Scientist II will also prepare reports and presentations for senior data scientists and relevant stakeholders that will give insights for departmental as well as business-wide decision making.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Research and develop statistical learning models for data analysis
- Collaborate with product management and the LOB’s to understand company needs and devise possible solutions
- Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends
- Communicate results and ideas to key decision-makers
- Implement new statistical or other mathematical methodologies as needed for specific models or analysis
- Optimize joint development efforts through appropriate database use and solution design
- Usually works with minimum supervision, conferring with business partners on data/reporting requests
- Documents the development and the design of the solutions built
- Conducts reviews for the work of less senior team members.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Begin to work on more complex projects with minimal supervision.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
- Minimum of 4+ years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree is preferred.
- Must be eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (IE: US Citizen or green card required)
- Ability to drive larger more complicated projects independently
- Insurance experience is preferred
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Practical (Advanced) experience with R, and/or Python
- (Advanced) SQL, Data Management, and Documentation
- Experience with ETL (Azure Data Factory, SSIS, etc.)
- Experience in various modeling techniques
- Excellent pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills
- Experience in data mining and complex statistical analysis
- Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation
- Experience in more complex Machine Learning techniques such as deep learning, neural networks, natural language processing.
- Model Governance, Metadata Management
- Experience with unstructured data and document-based systems (NoSQL, Data Lakes)
- Azure DataBricks experience is preferred.
- Experience with Agile data science life cycle management and related concepts like MLOps for Continuous deployment, integration, quality, and delivery is preferred.
