Responsibilities

Peraton is currently seeking skilled and qualified candidates for our Azure Architect Technical Lead position on the DHS CEO program. This role will serve as a technical leader and mentor to the development and infrastructure teams, ensuring that all cloud solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. This person must have engineering and design experience and extensive Azure knowledge and experience with integration, system analysis or programming experience, including developing Azure systems requirements and design specification.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of complex cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security
  • Develop and maintain cloud architecture standards, best practices, and guidelines for cloud adoption and migration
  • Define the cloud strategy, architecture roadmap, and technical direction for cloud projects, aligning with business objectives and industry standards
  • Provide technical oversight and architectural leadership across multiple cloud projects, ensuring consistency Design and implement Azure-based solutions leveraging services such as Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Storage
  • Oversee the deployment of applications using CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates
  • Ensure cloud solutions are designed for high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability
  • Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services and technologies based on requirements and cost considerations
  • Serve as the technical lead for Azure projects, providing guidance to development, operations, and infrastructure teams
  • Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering a place of continuous learning and technical excellence
  • Drive innovation by researching and recommending new cloud services and solutions that align with the organization's goals
  • Continuously monitor and optimize the performance and cost-efficiency of cloud solutions
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex issues, ensuring minimal impact to the organization and driving root cause analysis

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years' experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
  • 7+ years of integration, systems analysis, or programming.
  • 5+ years of developing systems requirements and design specifications in Azure.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management/lead architect positions in Azure development or implementation. Expertise in AZ PowerShell, GitLab, and Ansible
  • Expert in leading and collaborating with technical teams of diverse IT related skill sets
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of Azure cloud and deploying in Government environments.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
