Job description

The Military Education Coordinator for Liberty University Online performs duties that involve the following (as guided by the long and short-range goals of Liberty University): 1) Work with the military community to promote Liberty University Online programs through advertising and branding for both the new and returning student body within Liberty University Online; 2) Dissemination of information regarding the Liberty University Online Undergraduate and Graduate programs to Military service members and their families; 3) Identification, recruitment, and selection of prospective military students as guided by the long and short-range goals of the University; 4) Work with military commands and military contracting companies to promote Liberty University Online programs through military partnerships; 5) Work closely with the Director of Military Education on current departmental issues, projects, and events.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Updates the Director and the recruitment staff with the previous event’s numbers, statistics, and individual.
  • Identifies new strategies to improve the overall productivity and efficiency of the

Recruitment department.

  • Provides feedback in monthly evaluations for the Director and events.
  • Remain current with changing Liberty University Online programs and policies.
  • Promotes Liberty University Online programs through military education fairs, community colleges, and any other venues that management may choose to pursue and supplies these offices with Liberty University Online printed information.
  • Meets weekly and works closely with the Recruitment team to revise procedure and brainstorm greater efficiency and effectiveness in recruiting new students.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings with organization representatives, potential students, and others. Make presentations to groups of varying size.
  • Research the most cost-effective travel and lodging options and make reservations based on pre-trip estimates of anticipated travel costs. Provide post-trip financial expense reports of actual travel costs.
  • Interviews and hires prospective job candidates when positions are available within the Military Education Development team.
  • Maintain and update various databases to track recruitment trips, points of contact, inquires and mailings.
  • Provide a monthly report to leadership, including contact logs and leads received. Provide written and verbal updates to other University officials as needed.
  • Be alert of ways to expand recruiting opportunities for LUO and be proactive in presenting ideas to the Director on potential strategies and materials.
  • Assist in planning of and recruiting at specific conferences as approved by Director of Military Education.
  • Perform other duties essential to the work described herein and as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications, Credentials, And Competencies

A bachelor's degree, thorough knowledge of business, marketing, and higher education industries, and management experience is required. A master's degree, 3-5 years' military experience, sales/marketing experience, and an admissions background is preferred. Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and excellent organizational skills. Regularly required to lift 50+ pounds. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
