Systems Engineer (Web Applications)

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen.

The National Park Service requires full software lifecycle development and support utilizing industry best practice standards for new and legacy applications/systems in the NISC portfolio. New and next generation concepts of software engineering, technologies, and solutions will be utilized to accommodate flexibility in our technical solutions and ensure the long-term successful development and maintenance of all software applications.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Systems Engineer (Web Applications): Pay commensurate with experience.

Systems Engineer (Web Applications) Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in analysis of application customer/business requirements and application design recommendations.
  • Implement approved solution as custom application.
  • Develop and build user interface based upon storyboards and mockups.
  • Build backend microservices that deliver the business requirements.
  • Utilize microservices and domain driven architecture to implement and integrate with the design and user interface.
  • System development completed utilizing an Agile methodology, implemented through a series of sprints.
  • Implement a responsive design for the web application. Web pages will render well on a variety of devices or window/screen sizes.
  • Identify and integrate with other associated systems or subsystems necessary.
  • Establish procedures for deployment of development, test and production web application and database environments.
  • Implementation of data migration plan for identified data assets.
  • Perform deployment, testing and installation of software.
  • Consolidate/integrate technical solutions to avoid duplication and increase efficiency.
  • Monitor the application and provide all needed life cycle support, including configurations, updates, patches, and defect and bug fixes.
  • Maintain libraries and other software required to support application development.
  • Integrate with and utilize the methods, processes, and tools currently utilized by the government for software engineering and project tracking.
  • Provide configuration control of applications.
  • Create, update and maintain all needed technical documentation. This will include creation and maintenance of data flow and system interface drawings, deployment instructions and details, technical stack information, and component descriptions.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Systems Engineer (Web Applications) Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor’s Degree CS, IT or a relevant field.
  • 5-7 years relevant experience
  • NET based languages and associated frameworks (C#)
  • AWS Platform experience
  • GitHub Enterprise
  • Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) technology (prefer Entity Framework)
  • SQL
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
