Job description

The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus will open in the Spring of 2025. This 469,000 square foot facility will be home to UI Health Care’s nationally recognized Orthopedics service line, offering comprehensive, coordinated, and accessible care across the outpatient, inpatient and surgical venues. These state-of-the-art clinical facilities will also include a full-service community imaging center, laboratory services, physical therapy, retail pharmacy, and emergency department as well as an array of support services. The facility has been designed to support a superior patient and staff experience; excellence across our patient care, teaching and research missions; convenient access to services; and engaging community partnerships. This position is eligible for remote work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.

Position Specific Summary

  • Provide leadership in clinical care coordination/specialized nursing care through care planning with preference cards, charge reconciliation, documentation audits, assistance with clinical coordination in central scheduling, verifying clinical resource needs, using clinical nursing to in improve nursing and health care through the management of quality or design of informatics.

    Schedule: Primarily Days Monday - Friday. Weekends, holidays, and call per unit needs.

    Required Qualifications

    • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
    • Current License to practice in Iowa.
    • 2+ years of recent Operating Room nursing experience.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstration of commitment to principles of Service Excellence.
    • Excellent organization skills; detail oriented.
    • Collaborates and develops effective interpersonal relationships with nursing staff, medical staff, interdisciplinary teams, and other hospital departments.


    Desired Qualifications

    • Expertise in Orthopedic surgical procedures.
    • Expertise in Epic Optime.
    • Knowledge of Operating Room scheduling processes.
