Job Summary
This position is responsible for the preparation of general ledger entries, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, and coordination of the recording and tracking of costs related to Contract Change Orders.
Education & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- 2-4 years’ experience in analyzing and forecasting data
- Three (3) years’ experience in an accounting related field
- US Citizenship
- Must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
Preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft financial application and nVision
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, audit, and maintain the integrity of financial reporting, including contract modifications, healthcare expense and revenue reporting, and monthly financial statements.
- Perform Balance Sheet analysis and reconciliation of general ledger activity.
- Provide overall project assistance and support to the Accounting Manager.
- Coordinate with the Contract Administration area on development and maintenance of procedures and documentation related to change order cost allocations. Work closely with Contract Administration to develop the initial costs of Change Orders and proposal preparation.
- Develop reports through nVision in PeopleSoft for Change Order reporting. Distribute applicable reports monthly to management.
- Establish, maintain, monitor, and reconcile all Change Order costs recorded in the General Ledger.
- Prepare journal entries for both actual and budget ledgers.
- Work with Contract Administration to gain an understanding of contract modifications impact on the organization. Track actual cost outcomes and trends due to contract modifications against planned/proposals.
- Develops report writing and data queries for management presentation and analysis.
- Maintain documentation and ensure all procedures support department and company policies and procedures. This includes developing new and updating current written desk procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Technical Skills: Working knowledge of GAAP, FAR and Cost Accounting Standards; business analysis and reporting; Proficient with Word and Excel; Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel); Knowledge of PeopleSoft financial application and nVision

*Annual base salary for Colorado, Hawaii, Washington D.C. and Washington State residents: $77,000- $99,000 depending on experience*
