This role offers the flexibility of working from home, with responsibilities including creditor representation in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in bankruptcy law, specifically representing creditors, and will be licensed to practice in North Carolina.LocationCharlotte, NCDutiesPrepare and review motions for relief from stay for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases, and objections to Chapter 13 plansHandle Chapter 11 cases and adversary matters, as applicableDraft responses to motions, oppositions to objections to claims, and review pertinent legal documents including deeds of trust, notes, assignments, property titles, dockets, and pleadingsRespond to court notifications and inquiries from clients, debtors, and debtor attorneysRepresent creditors in bankruptcy court, handling all aspects of the process with minimal supervisionRequirementsMinimum of 3 years of experience in bankruptcy law representing creditors, particularly in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 casesAdmission to practice law in North Carolina and in good standing with applicable Federal bankruptcy courtsExperience in other states is a plusProficient in drafting pleadings, making court appearances, and conducting case law researchStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to manage a high-volume caseload effectivelyEducationJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law schoolCertificationsActive Bar membership in North Carolina and applicable Federal bankruptcy courtsAdmission to practice in other states is advantageousSkillsProficient in legal research and draftingEffective communicator with strong organizational skillsCapable of independently handling creditor representation in bankruptcy mattersBenefitsCompetitive salary commensurate with experienceFlexible work-from-home arrangementComprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insuranceOpportunities for professional development and growth within the firm
