Job description

Overview:

This position will be responsible for leading key U.S. based global, national and regional congresses to strengthen the Menarini Stemline brand across the hematology/oncology market.  In addition, this position will lead the planning for key internal meetings and rewards trips.  Critical to this role is the ability to collaborate with key healthcare associations and internal stakeholders to drive successful congress participation and the internal National Meeting. 

Responsibilities:
  • Lead development of the overall U.S. Congress Strategy and drive cross functional teams and vendors partners to pull through execution
  • Develop annual congress budget for multiple brands in collaboration with marketing teams including regional marketing, and ensure pull through of strategic imperatives
  • Ensure established congress and meetings are executed within allocated budgets and tracked according to all internal processes and work flows
  • Lead process to evaluate agencies for key vendors including primary exhibit/congress vendor and drive efficiencies, with potential to lead request for proposal (RFP) process to evaluate agencies
  • Work collaboratively with Global Team and ensure senior leadership team needs are understood and met for key congresses and meetings
  • Identify opportunities aligned with business objectives across external meeting organizations (including ASH, ASCO, SABCS, others) to maximize opportunities at subsequent congresses
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively across functions including commercial, medical affairs, R&D and market access as well as global teams to ensure excellence in execution at congresses and internal meetings
  • Drive development of overall booth themes and allocations across medical/commercial
  • Support coordination of HCP/EE meetings with Medical Affairs, Regional Marketing, and Senior Leadership
  • Establish project template for congress working groups to ensure timelines are met
  • Provide onsite leadership at congresses and internal meetings including management of key vendors and service providers
  • Present as required to senior management and business partners congress planning strategy, timelines, metrics, and benchmarking as appropriate
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on oncology congresses and drive innovation and sharing of best practice across oncology congresses
  • Plan for and execute key internal meetings including National Kickoff Meeting and President’s Club
  • Prioritize tasks, and organize and manage multiple projects while maintaining an understanding of national and global perspectives
  • Demonstrate ability to take initiative and consistently deliver high-quality output
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a BA/BS required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 10+ years work experience of relevant area in pharmaceutical industry experience leading congresses required including 5+ years of experience leading congresses in the hematology/oncology market
  • Demonstrated experience and track record for timely planning and execution of key initiatives, department priorities, and project coordination
  • Track record of establishing strong working relationship in a dynamic environment and driving results across diverse teams including internal and external stakeholders
  • Stellar record of being successful in fast-paced, dynamic environment, self-motivated, works with limited supervision
  • Must have a “roll-up their sleeves” work style understanding both tactical and strategic work are requirements and ability to complete tactical tasks in addition to assign and hold others accountable as appropriate
  • Ability to work independently or in a team structure and, to adjust effectively to work within new structures, processes, requirements, or cultures
  • Demonstrated strong team player including excellent collaboration, presentation, and communication skills (both written and oral) required
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Critical thinking skills with unique problem-solving abilities for new and novel obstacles
  • Excellent strategic planning abilities
  • Demonstrated budget and resource management skills
  • Remote Position with Travel as needed to attend major congresses and internal meetings (could be up to 40-50%)
