Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 5 Years, Job Overview: A multi-state law firm specializing in real estate and creditors' rights is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to support its California practice. This full-time role involves managing a significant caseload in mortgage foreclosure, collections, and creditor's rights matters. The position offers a flexible remote work environment, with occasional travel required for court appearances or meetings at the California office. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities and experience in litigation, with a focus on creditor's rights law.Duties:Manage a high volume of creditor’s rights and real estate cases, including mortgage foreclosures and collections.Represent clients in California state and federal courts, including bankruptcy proceedings.Handle all aspects of the litigation process, including discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution.Provide legal counsel on matters related to TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and bankruptcy issues.Prepare and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs.Attend court hearings and make necessary appearances on behalf of clients, with some travel required.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted legal advisor.Collaborate with the legal team to grow the firm’s presence and uphold its reputation as a top-performing practice.Requirements:Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.Licensed or eligible for admission to California federal district and bankruptcy courts.Minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage foreclosure, collections, and creditor's rights litigation.Familiarity with discovery practice, depositions, and conflict resolution.Knowledge of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code is preferred.Strong leadership, written, and verbal communication skills.Ability to proactively develop relationships within the industry and be viewed as a trusted partner and advisor.Willingness to travel for court appearances and in-person meetings as required.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active California State Bar license (required).Skills:Strong legal research, writing, and case management skills.Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a high-volume caseload.Detail-oriented and able to handle complex litigation matters.Strong interpersonal skills to foster lasting client relationships.
