Position Description

As a Cyber Security Architect, you will support the design, implementation, and management of robust system, cloud, software and infrastructure architectures that safeguard our networks, systems, and applications from business relevant cyber threats. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, OT, and DevOps, to embed security into every aspect of our digital estate. You will have a direct impact on the company’s security posture and play a pivotal role in defining our long-term security strategy.



Duties and Responsibilities:



- Design, implement and govern security solutions architectures that align with business goals and ensure appropriate mitigation of business relevant threats.

- Support and coordinate security assessments, risk analysis, and threat modeling to identify vulnerabilities and develop proactive mitigation strategies.

- Collaborate with engineering and development teams to integrate security into system designs, software development, and cloud infrastructure by following security-by-design best practices.

- Support the definition and enforcement of security policies, standards, and best practices and the QIAGEN enterprise cyber security architecture framework across the organization.

- Monitor emerging threats and technologies, staying ahead of cyber risks by adapting architectures and strategies accordingly.

- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST).

Position Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in cyber security, Information Technology, or a related field (master's preferred).

- 2+ years of experience in Cyber Security, with a strong focus on architecture and design.

- Good understanding of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), as well as knowledge of threat landscapes and attack vectors.

- Expertise in cloud security (Azure, AWS), network security, and securing hybrid infrastructures.

- Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise security capabilities or system (solution) security capabilities by applying security-by-design principles.

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Certifications such as SABSA, CISSP – are a plus.
