Job Overview

We are seeking an innovative and visionary Director of Generative AI - Agents and Tooling to join our dynamic team. As a leader in the field of AI, you will spearhead the development of groundbreaking, AI-oriented solutions designed to elevate both customer interactions and business workflows. Your expertise will help shape the future of AI within our organization, driving transformative changes across industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop abstract platform services that leverage generative AI to enhance application performance.
  • Create SDKs and APIs that empower our user community to design a variety of AI-enhanced tools, including information retrieval systems, fraud detection algorithms, AI assistants, and recommendation engines.
  • Design and implement advanced services focused on prompt engineering and vector databases to optimize generative AI processes, including the enhancement of large language models (LLMs) through retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure the generation of high-quality datasets and oversee the deployment of production-grade AI models.
  • Collaborate closely with research and product teams to identify and prioritize emerging AI services that foster innovation within the organization.
  • Remain informed about the latest advancements in machine learning and AI technologies, actively contributing to the strategic direction of future initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or C/C++.
  • Extensive experience in designing, building, and deploying enterprise-level AI applications.
  • Proven leadership in managing teams focused on developing machine learning solutions, with at least five years of people management experience.
  • Familiarity with LLM-based conversational AI systems and MLOps principles, overseeing the complete lifecycle of machine learning applications.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge and experience in architecting large-scale distributed systems in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 8 years of programming experience in relevant languages.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the design and deployment of enterprise AI applications.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in MLOps, managing machine learning application lifecycles.

Compensation Ranges

  • San Francisco, CA (Hybrid On-Site): \(291,100 - \)332,300 annually
  • New York City (Hybrid On-Site): \(274,800 - \)313,600 annually
  • Remote (Regardless of Location): \(232,900 - \)265,800 annually

The actual salary offered will be determined based on your location and qualifications and confirmed upon receiving the final offer.
