Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately analyze and code primary care records, including dental and mental health charts after training.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state coding regulations.
  • Implement organization-specific coding protocols to meet necessary certifications.
  • Provide support for coding and charting inquiries from staff and providers.
  • Complete chart coding promptly, within five days of service.
  • Address patient billing inquiries professionally and with empathy.
  • Post payments to accounts and manage outstanding patient payments, including setting up payment plans as needed.
  • Conduct audits to ensure billing accuracy in collaboration with billing partners.
  • Resolve internal insurance billing discrepancies.
  • Audit medical records to verify proper documentation of services rendered.
  • Monitor and rectify charting errors in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Master necessary software and tools for effective performance in your role.
  • Analyze and enter medical records as required.

  • Experience with coding in School-Based Health Clinics (SBHC) or Rural Health Clinics (RHC) is preferred.
