How can you make an impact?

The McGraw Hill Higher Education Program Management Office (PMO) leads the strategic planning, execution, and governance of our division’s most important strategic initiatives. The Senior Program Manager leads cross-functional teams to drive the execution of complex initiatives in their program portfolio. As a trusted partner throughout the higher education organization, the Senior Program Manager orchestrates with agility, influences others towards strategic and operational excellence, and ensures successful execution of program objectives to achieve our higher education strategy.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead cross-functional program teams overseeing end-to-end execution of projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget
  • Partner closely with business leaders to influence action and ensure that strategic initiatives are aligned with organizational goals and resource availability
  • Identify and document program risks, issues and dependencies, escalating to senior leaders as appropriate
  • Motivate and hold teams accountable to achieving program objectives and strategic business goals
  • Champion the ongoing development of the PMO function, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and consistently implementing enhancements
  • Mentor and coach junior program managers, providing guidance on best practice

We are looking for someone with…

  • 5+ years of experience managing multiple complex cross-functional projects
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and techniques - PMP Certification
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and address issues proactively
  • Adept at business and project management tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Asana, Jira, Smartsheet)
  • Displays and acts with intellectual curiosity, initiative, integrity, maturity, and professionalism

The pay range for this position is between $62,000-$125,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
