Job description

Client: BAE Systems

Location: Scotstoun

Working Arrangements: 1-2 days per week in the office

Hours: 37 hours

Hourly Rate: £37.69 PAYE or £49.73 Umbrella

Key Responsibilities

Assist in creating design requirement specifications and cost estimates.
Develop and promote new technologies for integration into business programs.
Lead or contribute to subsystem designs, either independently or as part of a small team.
Produce layout drawings for aviation compartments and update systems within the Windchill PLM.
Write and update Technical Equipment Specifications, coordinating with suppliers to ensure deliveries meet requirements.
Collaborate with systems engineers and detail designers on the integration of aviation systems.
Support HAZIDs, safety reviews, design reviews, and zonal reviews.
Engage with international partners and suppliers.
Ensure technical documentation and procurement packs meet the required standards.
Validate assumptions and engineering data through audits, reviews, and surveillance.

Requirements:

Proven experience in naval and/or commercial ship systems, with expertise in system and spatial integration.
Familiarity with ship aviation design is highly desirable.
Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD or FORAN is advantageous.
Knowledge of certification processes through Naval Authority Groups is desirable.
Strong communication skills for working with internal teams and international partners.
