Qualifications

Requirements

• 8+ yrs of professional software engineering experience
• Strong experience with JavaScript/Typescript, Node.js and React
• Strong system design experience including diagramming and technical documentation
• Strong understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Strong understanding of database architecture and performance
• Strong understanding of asynchronous, object oriented, and functional programming design patterns
• Experience working with AWS (ECS, Lambda, SQS/Kinesis etc)
• Experience with Apollo GraphQL a plus
• Experience developing and scaling REST APIs for various platforms
• Experience developing low latency, high availability applications
• Ability to deliver within a fast-paced agile software development environment
• Experience developing in serverless microservice environments
• Familiarity with Domain Driven Design principles
• Proven track record of collaborating with senior engineering staff, internal/external stakeholders and driving architecture decisions
• Experience identifying and executing on initiatives to increase code quality and consistency across the engineering org
• Passion for creating and enhancing developer tooling
• Experience starting projects from scratch as well as jumping into existing architecture
• Desire to keep up-to-date on the latest industry techniques and trends
  
  

Responsibilities

• Gather technical project requirements and specifications from clients and internal stakeholders (technical and non-technical) during the project development lifecycle.
• Translate business rules and stakeholder requirements into project specifications that leverage internal and external systems.
• Lead the design of data ingestion and transformation systems and processes.
• Support development team by developing technical and architectural plans, generating documentation, and assembling presentation material that define project technical approaches, constraints and milestones.
• Engage directly with technical stakeholders to communicate project updates (via in-person demonstrations, virtual calls/emails) throughout the production lifecycle.
• Coordinate internal (software engineers, product managers, business stakeholders) and external resources (e.g., vendors) to ensure efficient and timely delivery schedule.
• Independently prototype tools and resources for quick-turn proof-of-concept scenarios, troubleshooting, and project development.
• Manage multiple, complex production requirements, workstreams, and timelines, while ensuring that project outcomes match or exceed stakeholder expectations.
• Mentor and coach junior team members across the business.
