Job purpose

Provide essential support to the legal department by handling a variety of legal tasks and provide legal advice on corporate matters, handling compliance issues, among other legal tasks to ensure the smooth operation of corporate legal activities.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and corporate agreements.
  • Prepare, review, and filing of corporate documents, including contracts, agreements and corporate filings.
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate governance standards, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various corporate issues to support corporate strategies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of corporate strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure legal compliance and risk management.
  • Prepare and present legal reports and documents.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external legal counsel.
  • Support corporate governance and framework and policy development.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations in the relevant markets.
  • Conduct due diligence and support mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions as instructed by the Legal Director.
  • Supports the management of the corporate repository of the company to warrant up to date documentation.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Law degree from an accredited law school. Post-graduate in corporate law or certificate in corporate governance is a plus.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a corporate lawyer or legal associate.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interface with individuals at all levels internally and externally
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while remaining detail oriented
  • Subject Matter Expert to support senior management regarding corporate matters.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills English and Spanish.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide strategic advice.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency using MS Office suite of programs to include MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
