Job Description Summary:

This position provides quality therapy services under the guidelines set by the state practice guidelines, Medicare, and Logan Health (LH) policies. Meets legal, ethical and institutional standards while adhering to the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the assigned area(s).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) of the below required:
    • Graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant or Physical Therapy program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
    • Graduate of a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Minimum of one (1) of the below licensures required:
    • Current Montana Physical Therapy Assistant license or possess a temporary Montana PTA license.
    • Eligibility for license to practice as a Montana Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.  License must be obtained within ninety (90) days of employment or the first opportunity to sit for the test.
  • Minimum of three (3) years Therapy Assistant experience preferred.
  • Current CPR required as applicable to assigned area.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Effectively plans and provides services in a competent and efficient manner.
  • Assists with implementation and follow through of individualized treatment plans as set forth by the supervising Therapist.  Adapts and progresses program as appropriate to achieve goals and expected outcome.
  • Performs patient treatments according to established therapy standards and department policies and procedures.  Performs therapy treatment to patients relative to age, culture and conditions of patients as served by the assigned area(s).
  • Accurately and efficiently performs technical skills as delineated by education and experience.
  • Implements and documents specific and individualized treatment programs for patients according to the principles of therapy, LH policy and payer requirements.  Completes all required documentation in a timely manner according to payer guidelines (Medicare, Private Insurance, Medicaid) and Montana practice guidelines for therapy
  • Collaborates with leadership to develop goals and discharge planning for patients as applicable to assigned area(s).
  • Exhibits knowledge and skill in the use of materials, equipment, processes, procedures and techniques currently used in assigned area(s).
  • Documents treatment and patient’s progress in EMR per department procedures.
  • Accurately and timely achieves set productivity standards as applicable to assigned area(s).

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
