Role Summary

We are seeking an Executive Director, Pre-commercialization Marketing as one of the first commercial hires as Apogee grows from a clinical to commercial stage biotech company. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will play a key role in progressing the Apogee Therapeutics pipeline and developing and implementing marketing strategies to prepare products for potential launch in the future. As part of a cross functional team, your role will bring marketing and patient perspectives to our programs as they move towards commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and implement the pre-commercial marketing plan encompassing the following areas:
    • Proposing and conducting market research to understand the market and identify customer needs 
    • Creating preliminary brand plans for products in development 
    • Financial analysis, including reviewing financial evaluations of potential initiatives, such as ROI and NPV 
    • Developing digital marketing campaigns to support commercial goals 
    • Building awareness and providing training to cross functional teams on product and market trends 
  • Partner with Commercial Operations & Analytics to develop insight into our markets through market research, competitive intelligence, and business analytics
  • Provide market/commercialization perspective to clinical development program teams
  • Lead the development and implementation of marketing plans that include situation analyses, segmentation and targeting, go-to-market strategies
  • Partner with Finance to develop and maintain commercial forecasts and operating budgets
  • Partner with Medical Affairs on our approach to supporting the patients we serve, collaborate on the Patient Advocacy strategy and implementation
  • Partner with Medical Affairs leadership on key initiatives including KOL identification and development, publication planning, lifecycle management, etc.
  • Work cross functionally on planning medical congresses, advisory boards, disease education/awareness initiatives, speaker programs, etc.
  • Prepare and present the pre-commercialization marketing strategy to senior leadership
  • Participate in portfolio strategy and commercial evaluation with Business Development & Strategy colleagues

Ideal Candidate

  • BS/BA degree in business or related discipline required; MBA strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • Specialty launch and pre-launch experience is required
  • Experience building and leading marketing teams
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while working, building and leading in a remote setting 
  • Must be highly analytical and comfortable formulating and delivering data-driven, fact-based analyses of the business and using these insights to propose effective strategies to meet corporate objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – strong PowerPoint skills are a must   
  • Ability to synthesize data and deliver key messages and recommended action plans
  • Strong executive presence and comfortable presenting to c-suite and board of directors
  • Experience attracting top talent and building high performing teams with diverse backgrounds
  • Able to adapt to changes in the work environment, ambiguity and managing demands
  • Highly skilled at working cross-functionally, including interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders

  • This position requires up to 25% travel

The anticipated salary range for candidates for this role will be $275,000 to $295,000 per year. The final salary offered will depend on several factors, which may include, but is not limited to relevant years of experience, educational background, and geography.
