Position Description - Regulatory Counsel: The position primarily involves representing Eversource companies before state regulatory agencies. The position will also involve providing legal advice and counsel in related matters. The position is located in Berlin, CT, and will require the successful candidate to appear in-person for hearings before Connecticut state agencies. This position is eligible, under Eversource’s current flexible work policy, for work from home up to two days per week as business circumstances permit. Experience representing regulated entities before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is a plus.
Position Requirements:
Candidates admitted to the Connecticut Bar are preferred; however, all candidates admitted to practice in another state and in good standing will be considered. As a condition of employment, admission to the Connecticut Bar will be required within one year. Background handling administrative appeals from agency decisions is a plus. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and be able to assume independent responsibility for litigation and advice for complex regulatory and other legal matters, working closely with in-house legal resources, company management and, in certain limited cases, outside counsel. Being a good team player, well-organized, and able to identify business-oriented solutions to legal problems are important qualities to ensure success. The candidate must also demonstrate excellent written and oral communications skills and legal research abilities.
Compensation:
Title and compensation will be commensurate with the individual’s demonstrated ability and level of experience.
Education:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctor degree.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience.
Licenses & Certifications:
