Recently named by the Boston Globe as one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts, our community-based, mission-driven hospice and palliative care organization seeks a Triage and Support Nurse to join its expanding clinical team.

 

Job Responsibilities:

The Triage and Support Nurse is a 24 - hours position. The perfect candidate must be able to work 3 hours on Friday afternoon (4pm to 7pm), 9.5 hours on Saturday (8am to 5.30pm), 9.5 hours on Sunday (8am to 5.30pm) and 2 hours on Monday morning (8am to 10am). This is a remote position. The Triage and Support Nurse is responsible for triaging calls that come in during the weekend and for the coordination of patient care during these hours as well as providing support to the nursing department as directed during scheduled weekday hours. The Triage and Support Nurse must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.  This nurse must also possess outstanding assessment skills as well as the ability to efficiently triage patient calls.

 

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (MA license)
  • 2 years of nursing experience and at least 1 year of hospice or equivalent nursing experience

  • Sensitivity to and knowledgeable about end-of-life issues

  • Comfortable working with socioculturally diverse patients/families

  • Demonstrates ability to manage pain and control symptoms

  • Demonstrates flexibility and multitasking abilities

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Adaptable to frequently changing patient needs

  • Adaptable to technology
