Job description

Overview
Foursquare ITP has an exciting opportunity to work with multi-family properties and events planning partners in the District to encourage residents and visitors to explore the city by foot, bike, bus, scooter, and rail. We’re seeking someone passionate about transportation to enhance the travel experience of our visitors and encourage residents to explore DC’s robust network of sustainable transportation options. Foursquare ITP is looking to hire a talented and motivated individual to join goDCgo as the Residential Outreach Coordinator. goDCgo is the District Department of Transportation’s (DDOT) Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program operated by Foursquare ITP. goDCgo aims to reduce the number of drive-alone trips in Washington, DC by encouraging commuters, residents, and visitors to bike, walk, scoot, carpool, telework, and use public transit through a coordinated multi-layered program. 

This position is primarily based in DDOT’s office in the Navy Yard area of Downtown DC, but a significant portion of time is expected to be spent in the field offering TDM support to residential buildings and large events. This position is required to be on-site one day a week and eligible to telework up to four days a week.  

Role 
The role of the Residential Outreach Coordinator is a multi-function position working directly with management and concierges at event planning firms throughout the District to increase the use of sustainable transportation modes among event attendees. Additionally, the role involves working directly with property managers, developers, and concierges at multi-family residential properties throughout the District of Columbia to increase the use of sustainable transportation modes among residents and building staff. 

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Work as part of the goDCgo team to accomplish organizational goals. 
  • Conduct business-to-business outreach with multi-family property managers, developers, event organizers, and industry-based organizations, including consultative sales meetings with front office, concierge, sales, and marketing staff about transportation options for residents, visitors, and event attendees maintaining and growing the number of industry contacts aware of the availability of TDM assistance. 
  • Foster relationships and develop co-marketing opportunities with Destination DC, Washington Area Concierge Association (WACA), and other organizations. 
  • Present on services available at annual industry and HOA/association meetings. 
  • Provide content for newsletters, website, and sales and marketing collateral materials. 
  • Develop and execute outreach initiatives for Capital Bikeshare bulk pass sales. 
  • Conduct outreach at a variety of TDM events to promote transportation options to residents and commuters, ensuring they understand their alternative transportation options. 
  • Assist in maintaining and managing inventory of promotional materials. 
  • Fulfill brochure requests for all programs and prepare event materials and collateral. 
  • Maintain records on all outreach efforts through the customer relationship management (CRM) database to ensure accurate reporting. 
  • Work with large-scale events to encourage adoption of strategies and programs like bike valet, Capital Bikeshare corrals, SmarTrip cards, and Capital Bikeshare 24-hour passes. 
  • Maintain and implement a residential recognition program for participating properties. 
  • Engage with the residential front office, concierge, property managers, and developers using motivational engagement strategies to promote transportation options to tenants and encourage decision makers to implementing TDM incentives, programs, and amenities at their buildings. 
  • Provide assistance to developers to meet building zoning order requirements.  
  • Increase access to transportation options by expanding equity-focused programs and communications to affordable housing properties and underserved communities.
  • Conduct community engagement at residential buildings, sharing information and resources with residents. 
  • Foster relationships with industry groups like the National Concierge Association (NCA), The National Association for Residential Property Managers (NARPM), and others.  
  • General office duties include answering general information calls and emails, supporting travel planning for commuters, staffing TDM-focused events like Open Streets, Bike to Work Day, etc. 

Required Skills, Expertise, and Experience  
The selected candidate must have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Sales, Communications, Business Management, Public Relations, Public Administration, Marketing, Urban Planning, or related area with 1-3 years of relevant experience. 
  • Experience with CRM software is a plus but not required.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software. 

Location 

While this is a hybrid in-office/work from home position, the selected candidate must live in or relocate to the Washington, DC region within commuting proximity to downtown. They will work at DC DOT’s office and Foursquare ITP’s office in DC. 

Compensation  

An individual who meets the minimum requirements can earn an annual salary of $73,000. Salary can be as much as $81,000 based on additional education, years of experience, and relevance of experience.
