Job Summary:

The IT Software Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing the management and optimization of the company’s software assets. This role involves ensuring compliance with software licensing agreements, managing software inventory, and implementing best practices for software asset management (SAM). The ideal candidate will have experience in software asset management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze software asset data and creating reports.
  • Execute reconciliation by comparing license entitlements with discovered software installations to determine effective license position for in-scope publishers.
  • Analyze reconciliation reports to determine required actions to address non-compliant software installations.
  • Manage the remediation of non-compliant software installations.
  • Provide timely and accurate data during the software contract renewal process
  • Analyze software usage reports and recommend removal for infrequently used software
  • Collect data and report on the effectiveness of the software asset management processes
  • Identify requirements to modify SAM processes..

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software asset management or a related role.
  • Knowledge of software licensing agreements and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in software asset management tools (Flexera/ServiceNow) and systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CSAM, ITIL) are a plus.

  • RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (Novice): Sets priorities and balances project and assignment workload effectively and efficiently. Staffed a project team composed of people whose abilities are established. Has developed needed skills on the project team when no other resources where available. Proficient in use of staffing tools and procedures such as job posting, career development, etc.
