Job Title: Sr. Manager of AP Operations

Location: Remote - USA 

Reports to: Director of AP Operations 

Department Name: Finance Ops - AP

Position Type: Full Time, Exempt

Overview

The Sr. Manager of Accounts Payable (AP) Operations is responsible for providing overall team development and process leadership to the Accounts Payable Team.  This role oversees day-to-day operation on a high-volume accounts payable operation and is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of streamlined processes, best practices and internal controls for the AP function, work with team members to implement automation of processes within the department
  • Ensure that all daily processes are completed in a timely, accurate and in a controlled manner
  • Plan work assignments, evaluate work performed and provide direction and decisions in handling procedural and technical problems
  • Research discrepancies of financial information and/or documentation (e.g., purchase orders, vendors, invoices, etc.) for ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing
  • Provide timely feedback to Director of AP Ops and other team members to improve deliverables
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve issues with payments and vendors
  • Fulfill hiring needs for the AP department, provide or arrange for training for new team members
  • Assist with audits and provide documentation and support as needed
  • Ensure appropriate oversight documentation is developed, maintained, updated and accessible

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar fields
    • 5+ years of experience in accounts payable or similar role
    • 4+ years of supervisory experience
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
    • Demonstrated skills in strategic accounts payable leadership and delivery of best practices
    • Proven team-building experience
    • Ability to plan, organize, develop tactical plans, and sets priorities
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Advanced MS Office Skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Ability to manage/lead through change, work efficiently, and manage deadlines in a changing environment
    • Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, train, and evaluate work results
