Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to verify and confirm patients' insurance coverage and benefits to ensure smooth and accurate billing processes for healthcare services. You will be a critical part of our team, ensuring accurate information and helping people receive the care that they need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify patients’ insurance eligibility and benefit coverage through insurance portals, phone calls, or emails.
  • Accurately interpret and document insurance details, including coverage limits, copayments, deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums, and any exclusions.
  • Communicate eligibility and benefits information to our team via entry in PROMPT EMR and Gmail
  • Track and update patient records with accurate insurance information in PROMPT EMR and via GMAIL with Team.
  • Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve any coverage issues 
  • Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and help answer any questions they may have regarding their coverage.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in insurance policies, healthcare plans, and payer requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all communications and verifications for auditing purposes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or a related healthcare administrative role.
  • Strong understanding of various types of health insurance plans, including Medicare and PPOs
  • Excellent Phone Skills.
  • Problem Solving Skills to identify potential time savings in this position. 
  • Experience using healthcare management systems and insurance portals (e.g., Availity, NaviNet).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information securely.
  • Proficient in Google Workplace, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and other relevant software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance.
  • Prior PROMPT EMR experience is a plus.

Benefits

  • Client Relationship: You will be directly working with the client. This means that you will communicate with the client, provide services, and address any client-related matters independently.
  • Payment: All payments for your services will be handled directly by the client. Elevate and Delegate is not involved in processing your payroll. Your salary will directly go to you.
  • Vacation Leaves and Holidays: While we may have recommendations or guidelines regarding vacation leaves and holidays, the decision is entirely at the discretion of the client. You are expected to align your schedule with the client's business needs and any specific policies or preferences they may have in this regard.

Salary: $900 - $1100
Schedule: PST
