About the Role

The Evaluation and Impact Measurement Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of evaluation frameworks and mechanisms to collect and interpret data, evaluate the progress and efficacy of projects and programs, and record the impact of Food Banks Canada’s work. This role establishes evaluation methodologies and assists teams across Food Banks Canada in setting up mechanisms for collecting valuable data on projects and programs and extracting key impact results. The Evaluation and Impact Measurement Manager analyzes and interprets data and develops reporting that allows the organization to speak confidently about Food Banks Canada’s impact to all stakeholders and identify ways to enhance future work.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Work with the Director of Projects and Evaluation to design, develop and maintain evaluation frameworks, methodologies, and mechanisms to extract impact measures from key areas of work
  • Evaluate the progress and efficacy of projects and programs. Identify relevant indicators and develop data collection processes, tools and systems to collect both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Develop and maintain systems and methods for effective and secure data storage and analysis. Ensure compliance with ethical standards and data protection regulations in all evaluation activities
  • Conduct analyses of data using rigorous and up-to-date data analysis techniques to ensure accuracy of data
  • Work with the marketing and fundraising teams to understand their impact reporting requirements and timelines, and collaborate with the Director of Projects and Evaluation to build workback plans to support their needs
  • Conduct presentations and training on evaluation and impact measurements to internal and external staff, building their knowledge and skills in this area
  • Connect with counterparts across the food banking network, finding opportunities to mutually enhance each other’s work
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Need

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Statistics, Public Health, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in monitoring, evaluation, and data analysis or equivalent relevant experience 
  • Master’s degree or higher in a related field is an asset
  • Credentialed Evaluator Designation would be an asset
  • Experience working in the non-profit sector or with similar organizations is an asset
  • Strong general computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)
  • Familiarity with statistical software.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work
  • This position is remote and may be based anywhere in Canada
