Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 per year. You are eligible to a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 15% of your annual earnings, terms and conditions apply.
Assistant Laboratory Director (Hybrid-Aliso Viejo, CA or REMOTE, USA)
Job Overview:
Entry level support position as Assistant Laboratory Director in the Clinical Diagnostics Department. Responsibilities include the review and sign out of negative and straightforward positive clinical test reports. This includes technical and clinical case review, and straightforward variant classification and approval. This position requires ABMGG-board certification (or eligible), or equivalent, as well as a CGMBS license.
Essential Functions:
- Review and sign out of negative and straightforward positive clinical test reports.
- Provide high quality test results within published turn-around times.
- Variant classification and approval of straightforward alterations.
- Complete required competency and proficiency testing.
- Fulfill other regulatory responsibilities as delegated by CLIA laboratory Director.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in a field relating to genetics.
- Board certification (or board-eligible) from the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG), or equivalent.
- Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist (CGMBS) license from the California Department of Public Health.
- This position requires successful completion of ABMGG fellowship program, specialized in the service of the laboratory.
- General: Technical knowledge of laboratory testing and terminology is required. Capable of excelling within a team environment. Capable of accomplishing workload and additional projects with no supervision. Ability to communicate effectively, attention to detail, ability to cross reference information, ability to prioritize work, telephone skills, computer skills, working knowledge of standard office equipment (computers, printers fax machines, phone systems, office software and internet). Flexibility regarding job assignments.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents and Ambry Genetics test requisition forms, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively one-to-one, in a group setting, with clients, vendors and employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills: General knowledge of bioinformatics and biostatistics.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Responsible in maintaining any required certificates, licenses, and/or registrations that are required for the position.
